You will be supporting the delivery of a fuel poverty programme that takes a fabric-first approach to energy efficiency alongside the installation of low-carbon heating, where appropriate, on behalf of Nottingham Council and Midlands Net Zero Hub. The Midlands Net Zero Hub was established in 2018 and is based within the Environment and Sustainability Division with Nottingham City Council. The MNZH is funded by the Department of Energy Security and Net Zero and covers the nine Local Enterprise Partnerships from across the Midlands. This role will form part of the retrofit team and will be responsible for assisting delivery of various retrofit grant scheme projects. The role will report directly to the Principal Performance Project Officer within Nottingham City Councils award winning Environment and Sustainability division and will focus on:

  • Leading the day-to-day operation of Midlands Net Zero Hub's performance and data monitoring/visualisation
  • Support the development of bids for potential future funding opportunities
  • Provide project support and ensure scheme compliance is monitored and maintained
  • Support the collation and evaluation of data from other MNZH schemes
  • Engage with stakeholders to improve the accuracy and timeliness of data
  • Support the continued rollout and implementation of Monday.com as MNZH's primary project management, task management and data visualisation tool
  • Supervise 1 Grade F Project Support Officer

    The ideal candidate will have:
  • Bachelors degree in a relevant field such as energy/environmental studies, or a related discipline or demonstrable equivalent experience.
  • Experience in project support and coordination, specifically in the energy sector or related fields. They must have experience in working with data and performance-related information and must have the ability to collect and analyse data using databases or project management tools. It is also necessary to have experience in writing reports and effectively communicating project progress to stakeholders.
  • A general understanding of energy efficiency, renewable energy, fuel poverty, and low-carbon heating solutions is ideal. Knowledge of project management principles as well as funding mechanisms or financial models is preferable.
  • Excellent initiative, planning, and organisation skills. They will have strong communication and interpersonal skills that enable them to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders, both internal and external. This person will have analytical and problem-solving skills that facilitate accurate data collection and analysis. Additionally, proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software, particularly Microsoft Excel, is essential. Knowledge/experience of using Monday.com is desirable.
