Cabinet Office Security Team The Cabinet Office (CO) Security and Resilience (COSR) Team is the lead organisation for managing Security and Resilience within the Department. The remit covers providing advice, support and guidance to individuals and management units so as to manage a wide range of security-related threats and acting as the central focus for wider security policy issues affecting the entire department. The postholder will be responsible for the delivery of a challenging and exciting programme of work, providing advice, training and operational response to the department on some of its most complex, sensitive and important personnel and protective security issues. There will be opportunities to work with other members of the team across the full range of security disciplines within this role including physical security, classified working and incident management. Key stakeholders include the National Technical Authorities, Government Security Group, Government Security Centres, Police amongst others. Through their subject matter expertise the role holder will be responsible for (this list is not exhaustive):
  • Assess, manage and mitigate personnel security threats and risks.
  • Reducing the risk of insider activity within the department.
  • Deliver security education and awareness activities using a range of mediums.
  • Developing and implementing a programme of work to positively enhance the security culture across the Cabinet Office.
  • Provide security advice and guidance on personnel security issues including overseas travel.
  • Drafting and delivering security briefings.
  • Development and implementation of security policies and procedures.
  • Build and utilise networks and stakeholders across the department and government to help deliver an effective security service.
  • Supporting with other workstreams across the Security & Resilience Team as required.
  • Line management of 1 EO.
