Full Job Description

We are recruiting an 8a senior pharmacist role within the Medicines Optimisation Teams across Bromley and Bexley. It is expected that most projects/lead areas will be undertaken across both boroughs, however some projects may be in one borough alone and some across SEL.

You will be supported by the place-based Assistant Directors of Medicines Optimisation and a range of other place-based team members. Your key remit will be to support the leadership of medicines optimisation plans and financial accountability for the prescribing budget at Place, working through a distributed leadership model supported by the ICB Chief Pharmacist, Associate Chief Pharmacists, Consultant Pharmacists, and colleagues., You will be expected to develop excellent partnerships to drive high value medicines optimisation withinPlace partnerships including public health, local council, voluntary sector and primary care including Primary Care Networks, GP practices, GP Federation, community services, community pharmacy and the SEL Pharmacy Alliance. This includes cultivating a supportive and safe environment in which strengths can be shared, challenges made and the impact of decisions on the whole system reviewed and understood.

The South East London ICB is the NHS management unit of the ICS. It is accountable both to NHS England and to the South East London Integrated Care Partnership (ICP). The ICS exists to deliver four core purposes:

o Improve outcomes in South East London population health and health and care serviceso Tackle inequalities in outcomes, experience and access suffered by the residents of South East Londono Enhance productivity and value for money in the in the use of health and care resources in South East Londono Help the NHS support broader social and economic development in South East London.

The ICS is not an intermediate management tier and fundamental to the operating model of the ICS are three fundamental principles:

o Partnership: We are a partnership of sovereign bodies coming together to achieve something greater than the sum of the partners. All partners have a voice and all partners have responsibility.o Subsidiarity: We work on the basis of subsidiarity. This means issues and decisions should be dealt at the most local level consistent with their effective resolution.o Accountability: We value both supporting each other and being held to account by each other and our wider partners.
