If so then join our friendly pharmacy team at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust as a senior clinical pharmacist in specialist medicine and pharmacy training!
Due to the current post holder's promotion this rare opportunity to work within both disciplines has become available. There is no need for previous formal training experience just the right attitude to learn and to support and nurture others.
In addition to this role we also currently have a number of vacancies at band 7 level across the organisation including two rotational posts working across the City medicine specialties for 18 months and a senior clinical pharmacist post in respiratory medicine. Main duties of the job
This is a split post - 50% of your time will be spent clinically within the specialist medicine areas of the trust. You will get the opportunity to experience a variety of medical specialisms from cardiology, respiratory, renal and infectious diseases all aimed at building your clinical knowledge and skills, as well as maximising your integration with the multi-disciplinary teams.
The other 50% of your time will be working within our dedicated and experienced education and training team. Here you will mentor and support trainee and early years pharmacists ensuring they have the skills and aptitude to excel clinically. As part of this you will also get the opportunity to line manage and work towards being a designated supervisor for a trainee pharmacist; building your development portfolio further.

Pharmacy Education and Training 50%
Clinical pharmacy duties (50%) ensuring core clinical pharmacy activities are undertaken within the clinical pharmacy medicine team
Leadership, management and directorate/service support roles
To line manage and support more junior pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in the specialty
To take full part in the 7 day shifted rota and bank holidays duties
The post holder may be required to work at one or both campuses

If you are aged 16 or 17 and applying for a role that is more than 20 hours a week, please be aware that you will be asked to commence an Apprenticeship within the Trust alongside your role, as long as there is a suitable apprenticeship standard available. Salary: The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.

ID and Right to work checks: NUH authenticate ID and right to work documentation including passports and driving licenses through a system called Trust ID. The system will run a check against the key security features within your documentation. The system will provide us with an outcome of your check which will be stored securely on your personal file along with all other pre-employment check documentation.

+ Transfer of information: If I have previous NHS service - I consent to the transfer of my Electronic Staff Record (ESR) data between this and other NHS Trusts. I also consent to the Occupational Health Department confidentially accessing my occupational health records from my current or previous employer in order to check the status of my vaccinations, immunisations s and screening tests as relevant to the post. I understand this is an automated process and the information will only be used for these purposes prior to me taking up the position at NUH.
+ Disclosure and Barring Service: Your post maybe subject to a DBS check which incur a cost dependent on the level of check required (£42.90 for enhanced and £22.90 for standard). I agree to reimburse Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust the cost of a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check if it is required (by deduction from first month's pay). Should I decide to withdraw from my job offer, I agree to reimburse Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust the cost of the DBS check undertaken by cheque or other agreed method.
