Full Job Description

This post does not require on-call, out of hours, weekend or bank holiday working but you may be required to provide advice to support the on-call pharmacist or pharmacy team outside your normal working hours., We are seeking a highly skilled, motivated, and enthusiastic senior pharmacist to join our pharmacy team based at our Birmingham Women's Hospital pharmacy site. You will be responsible for leading, supporting and developing the clinical pharmacy service to ensure all our patients receive exceptional pharmaceutical care. You will oversee the delivery ofhigh quality, proactive and patient focused clinical pharmacy services in a range of specialties across the maternity, gynaecology and neonatal directorates to include neonatal intensive care and will deputise for the principal pharmacist when required., To lead, develop and deliver the clinical pharmacy service to ensure all patients receive outstanding pharmaceutical care

To co- ordinate the day-to-day duties, overseeing any additional duties required, identifying any gaps and devising a plan to manage them.

To supervise, motivate and support the team to ensure smooth and efficient flow of work.

To deputise for the Principal Pharmacist as required

To work with the Pharmacy and wider multidisciplinary teams to deliver service improvement projects to enhance patient care, efficiency, quality and safety across a number of clinical areas.

To attend multidisciplinary team and finance meetings to better patient care, safety and cost efficient use of medicines.

To write directorate reports, reporting on the finance, medicines safety and governance agenda

To support clinical governance processes across the divisions, investigating incidents where required and support medicines optimisation.

To take a lead in audit and education and training.

To take a lead in guideline/policy development to ensure safe and effective use of medicines compliant with relevant legislation
