Full Job Description

Would you like a new challenge? Would you like to make a real difference to patients' treatment? As a senior ward based pharmacy assistant, you will be responsible for supporting the Acute Medicine Admissions Wards , Accident & Emergency Department, Urgent Care Centre and nursing teams in ensuring that medicines are safely stored and readily available to the wards, clinics and associated areas. You will assist in the provision of a high quality patient focused medicines management and dispensary service to patients at the Trust.

The Trust consists of Charing Cross, Hammersmith, Queen Charlotte's & Chelsea, St Mary's and Western Eye Hospitals., + To support the ward managers in maintaining safe storage and temperature control of medications in all areas of the ward(s).
+ To assist in the provision of a high quality 'topping up' and 'self-ordering' distribution service of pharmaceutical supplies to wards, clinics and associated areas.
+ To assist in the provision of a high quality pharmacy stores service to the wards, clinics and associated areas.
+ To ensure that stock levels for 'topped up' areas are appropriate and that the stock is in date and appropriately rotated.
+ To assist in the provision of a high quality patient focused medicines management and dispensary service to patients at the Trust
+ In association with the senior technician, ward/department manager and specialist pharmacists to ensure that stock lists are updated and adequately reflect the needs of the area.
+ To undertake day-to-day housekeeping tasks and other basic duties as per section rota's.
