Full Job Description

The position of Senior Pharmacy Technician- CPSD Team Leader will deputise for the Principal Technician- Purchasing, Supply & Logistics and will supervise up to two of the following areas:
+ Purchasing Team
+ Stores Team
+ Accounts (Invoicing )Team
+ Distribution Team
You will be responsible for the following:
+ Supervising and directly managing the delivery of efficient and effective day-to-day operations and logistics within the pharmacy purchasing, invoicing, stores and distribution teams.
+ Developing and maintaining a working environment which encourages teamwork, mutual support and excellence in service delivery and reduces risks to a minimum.
+ Writing and updating standard operating procedures in line with governance requirements for pharmacy purchasing, invoicing, storage and distribution and assist in their implementation.
+ Assisting in ensuring the Pharmacy Stores and Distribution service and all the staff who work in those areas comply with the terms of the Wholesaler dealers license granted by the MHRA / Good Distribution Practice
+ Assisting in the delivery of training for all pharmacy staff involved in the purchasing, invoicing, storage and distribution of medicines.
In addition, you will assist the Principal Technician- Purchasing, Supply & Logistics by actively working towards maintaining key performance targets as well as for monitoring the quality of service provided.

This role will manage workload and supervise staff on a day to day basis, driving efficient working and organising cover for any unexpected staff absences to ensure a safe, effective and timely service in accordance with current legislation and guidance.

Previous experience of working in a supervisory or leadership role would be advantageous as well as an understanding of Good Distribution Practice. You will also be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
