Aneurin Bevan University Health Board Pharmacy is looking for the best and brightest pharmacy technicians to join our fantastic Education and Training team as Senior Pharmacy Technicians - Education and Training. This is an exciting opportunity for two experienced and enthusiastic pharmacy technicians to help lead the provision of education, training and development across ABUHB Pharmacy.

The roles will primarily focus on our pharmacy assistant and pharmacy technician workforce development in Secondary Care. ABUHB Pharmacy is dedicated to advancing pharmacy assistant and pharmacy technician development, and championing innovation aligned to that. The successful candidates should be highly competent and conscientious pharmacy technicians with considerable knowledge and skills within Secondary Care. We are looking for extensive experience in delivering educational programmes, service development, appraisals, mentoring, and leadership. The post holders will be capable of demonstrating role model behaviours in all aspects of the roles.

Base site will be agreed on appointment, The successful candidate will be able to work in a collaborative, effective and efficient manner to lead and support the provision of high quality education and training across our services. This includes responsibilities to:o Support the ABUHB Education and Training strategy by working closely with Education and Training Leads, Senior Managers and Senior Technicians to plan, organise and deliver training programmes within the Pharmacy Departments.o Lead, organise, and manage the Pharmacy Technician Level 4 Apprenticeship training programme (for Pre-Registration Pharmacy Technicians). Including ensuring standard operating procedures are in place, standardisation of training, quality assurance and governance to deliver an effective training programme.o Liaise with HEIW, and course providers e.g. UEA, Buttercups - for the formal training schemes with regard to individual students, training requirements and to input into the future development of the courses.o Manage, monitor progress and
governance with pharmacy assistant and pharmacy technician training across sites and provide regular reports to the Pharmacy Management Team on progress e.g. on level 2, 3 and level 4 programmes, ACPT training.o Lead and contribute to ensuring training and education provided meets statutory, professional and regulatory requirements for all pharmacy trainees.o Provide a ward-based medicines management service as part of the pharmacy team.
