Full Job Description

The dynamic Physiotherapy Department at Kings College Hospital is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic physiotherapist to join the rotation of Band 6 physiotherapists specialising in emergency / acute medicine, specialist medicine and Rehabilitation of Older people. The Physiotherapist within the medical pathway is overseen by Clinical Lead Physiotherapists specialising in acute medicine, specialist Medicine and rehabilitation of Older people. This creates good opportunities for shared learning, service development and research across the medical pathway. You will work closely with experienced Band 7s, a Clinical Team Lead, Band 5s and assistants. The rotations are 7-8 monthly and are in the following areas:

  • Acute Medical Unit - 7/7 service
  • Acute Frailty Unit -7/7 service
  • Emergency Department - 7/7 service
  • Acute Health & Ageing Unit (Short Stay Elderly Care Ward - 7/7 service)
  • General Medical ward - 7/7 service
  • Health & Aging Unit (Elderly Rehabilitation ward - 7/7 service)
  • King's Older Persons' Assessment Unit (out-patients)
  • Community Physiotherapy Services
  • Orthopaedics
  • Cardiology and Cardiothoracics in-patients
  • Renal in-patients
  • Cardiac and renal out-patients
  • Haematology in-patients
  • Other relevant rotations as they arise
  • The work pattern includes weekends and extended hours as required., As well as gaining valuable experience throughout the medical pathway and specialist medicine, you will also get an opportunity to develop your managerial and supervisory skills. Continuing professional development is encouraged through the appraisal system and there is a well-established in service education programme. Attendance at post registration courses is supported and there are comprehensive library and computer facilities on site.
