Full Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Band 6 or established Band 7 Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist to work with us in our large, friendly and supportive integrated team of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Rehabilitation Support Workers. We work within the Emergency Department, Acute Assessment Unit and Older Person Assessment Unit. We adopt transdisciplinary approaches and pride ourselves in being innovative and proactive in our approaches to patient care.

You will work closely with the other band 7s in the leadership and management of the team as well as have opportunities to share your expertise to support other teams in the hospital. You will have opportunities in teaching, quality improvement and service development to further develop therapy provision across our areas, as well as support in developing own learning needs and career aspirations.

Applicants will need to hold a current HCPC registration,have broad clinical skills including recent experience within acute admission avoidance services covering a variety of complex needs including frailty, respiratory, orthopaedics and neurology.

There is a strong commitment to staff training and service improvement with support for leadership development and education.

Professional Physiotherapy support and development is provided from the on-site Clinical Leads and the Therapy Practice Development and Complex Cases team (TPDCC).

The therapy service operates a rostered weekend service to ensure 7 day provision with early & late shifts ensuring services are covered between 8am - 6pm.

The post holder would be rostered to work no more than 1:4 weekends with time off in lieu during the week. Physiotherapists would also participate in the respiratory on call rota.

Whipps Cross University Hospital is a busy District General Hospital in East London, with easy access to central London, the M25 and M11 motorways.
