Accountable for the planning function for a portfolio of enabling works packages at Euston HS2 (Total value £50m+). Accountable for ensuring that projects/ tenders are effectively planned, scheduled, and monitored. Supports project management function in delivery of the project, as required.   • You will create and design effective implementation s of PMO and Project Controls framework s and strategies on assigned commissions.
  • You will support best in class service delivery and effective engagement with wider industry and professional bodies to promote Mace.
  • You will be developing your expertise in PMO and Project Controls, with a growing internal and external network (e.g. clients, contractors, consultancies and other stakeholders).
  • Maintains client programme, developing this from first principles, and aligning with supply chain programmes once appointed. Maintain vertical and horizontal programme alignment between the client and supply chain schedule and WBS.
  • Supports tender evaluation, reviewing contractor proposals and using construction knowledge to support the programme and construction evaluation process.
  • Supports contract administration - Provide planning support in the administration of subcontracts, including review and acceptance of programme submissions and assessment of compensation events.
  • Implements and Monitor progress and performance of works against key milestones and agreed metrics. Support last planning across the project.
  • Maintains schedule and cost alignment and supports earned value reporting for packages.
  • Manages programme risk allowance and reports on float erosion.
  • Liaises with team members to ensure that all activities are co-ordinated and that interface issues are identified and managed within the overall programme.
  • Supports PM and supply chain to resolve issues and develop programmes to mitigate delay.
  • Leads and manages a team of professionals delivering planning support and responsible for team/individual development.
  • Influences on complex requirements and communicate analysis and corrective measures effectively.
  • Influences client to accept proposals and recommendations.
  • Produces monthly programme narrative.

  • You will manage project teams in the administration of the PMO and project controls process, particularly with respect to the cost, schedule, change, risk and reporting.

    Strong knowledge of construction techniques methods and durations.
  • Strong understanding of techniques for project planning control and other facets of project control.
  • Strong knowledge of Primavera P6.
  • Strong knowledge of integrated project planning, last planner.
  • Ability to apply EVA techniques.
  • Experience working on NEC Contract.
  • Stays up to date with current key industry / professional trends.

  • Experience in planning Utilities and major infrastructure works.
