Senior Planner - Basildon District Council

You will join the council's planning team, working with friendly and supportive colleagues and will be involved in a wide variety of planning work relating to the future growth of our borough with a particular emphasis on dealing with all types of planning applications including major and strategic planning applications. Decisiveness and ambition for our borough are key qualities in this role so that you discharge our important statutory functions, play a key role in advising on and facilitating effective service delivery. A keen collaborator and team player, you may also have the opportunity to work across the planning function of the Council including the planning policy and enforcement teams. As a strong communicator, verbal and written, you will undertake all areas of planning for the local authority, including attending developer meetings and planning committees.

• Previous experience at a Senior Planner level gained from either a local authority or private sector background
• Experience of working in a team based environment, dealing with minor and major planning applications
• Educated to degree level in related subject or equivalent relevant experience and knowledge
  
  Essex County Council (ECC) are delighted to be supporting Basildon Borough Council (BBC) to recruit a Senior Planner on an initial 6 month temporary basis. Please note that this post is being offered on a flexible, hybrid basis with a minimum requirement of site based working twice a month.
