Full Job Description

Leading weekly PGD sessions , you will share this task with the other Senior Practitioners in the area. There you will be required to chair meetings including MDTs, safeguardings and VARMs and supporting the team with court work

Due to promotion, an opportunity has arisen for a full time established Senior Practitioner based in the long term Social Work Team in Amber Valley.
The successful applicant needs to be a resilient character, able to meet the high demands of the role. You must be well organised with excellent time management skills, have the ability to work flexibly and adapt quickly to change to meet the fluctuating needs of the service.
You must be tenacious with a commitment for your own continued development and that of the team. You will have the desire to keep up to date with practice issues and research to inform best practice and cascade this to the team. You will co-ordinate CPD sessions and support the team to complete PDRs. You will undertake file audits, quality assure work and be involved in performance management where the need arises.
As well as supporting with day to day management of cases, you will joint work complex cases and hold a small caseload. You will compliment the role of Service Manager and work in close partnership, communicating the vision for the future , deputising as required and facilitating change. There will be a requirement to deal confidently with conflict as it arises.
There is an expectation you will be able to demonstrate solid leadership qualities, and possess the ability to review and analyse the work of individuals and the team with the aim of continuous improvement in service delivery.
Successful candidates will be dependable, enthusiastic and self motivated. You must be an autonomous practitioner who is confident in defensible decision making .
You will be the area lead for transition cases and preparation for adulthood.
