Full Job Description

1x 1.0 WTE (part time considered) Senior Practitioner to cover Maternity Leave until December 2025 (fixed term). The Senior Practitioner will work in partnership with the Service Manager to provide operational management of the Liaison Psychiatry team on a day-to-day basis. The role will support other members of the team through effective leadership and clinical supervision. They will demonstrate a high level of practice experience. They will provide leadership and support to the teams and lead any future developments of the service provision by actively getting involved in quality improvement initiatives to improve performance and clinical outcomes for our service users. The Senior Practitioner will work a mixed shift pattern which will cover the full 24/7 period - including weekends and bank holidays.Main duties of the job Organise, integrate, and lead a multi-professional team in providing a high-quality service to service users of SHSC. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues within the Trust and other relevant services and key stakeholders, in order to maintain a safe and effective service. Continue to operate as a skilled clinician - undertaking assessments, formulating treatment plans and appropriately managing risk. Act as a champion for the service, demonstrating a participative and supportive management style with a commitment to team working. Maintain close links with all relevant agencies associated with the crisis and emergency care network including external partners. Provide supervision and support to the staff members of the team including formal performance, conduct, capability and attendance management - having full line management responsibility for a team of frontline and support staff. This will also include deputising for the Service Manager in their absence. Ensure effective communication and collaboration with all team members and liaise as necessary with key stakeholders and services across the crisis and emergency care network. Attend, contribute to and lead Operational and Governance meetings, working in partnership with the Service Manager.
