Full Job Description
The Senior Practitioner will receive professional supervision and line management from the Operational Lead. The Associate Clinical Director has overall responsibility for the work of the community services and also provides clinical leadership. The senior practitioners supports the Operational lead in providing a consistent, high quality service which is recovery focused, and sensitive to the needs of a diverse community. This is to ensure service delivery is of a consistently high standard and assisting the team in meeting these standards
In the NMHT and PCN, the Consultant Psychiatrists provides clinical leadership and the day to day management of non-medical staff is the responsibility of the Operational Lead, supported by the Senior Practitioners.
The post holder will form part of a small team of senior staff who undertake the initial assessment and triage of new referrals (ABT), ensuring that appropriate recommendations are made for the management of each case it is passed to a more junior member of staff.
This is a fixed term Senior Practitioner role within the Bethnal Green and Globe Town Neighbourhood Mental Health Team., 1. To provide assessment and treatment service to patients with complex mental health problems in Tower hamlets community, in coordination with other members of the Multi-disciplinary and occupational therapy team.
2. To promote and offer a range of clinical and non-clinical interventions within the Neighborhood Mental Health Team
3. To contribute to the on-going development and transformation of the care system
4. To provide effective signposting to a range of health, social, voluntary sector and community-based resources and services.
5. To work with patients to:
a. support shared decision-making about self-management;
b. provide brief therapeutic interventions, where qualified to do so and where appropriate;
6. To provide specialist nursing or OT input to service users accessing the Neighborhood, especially where needs are complex and where multiple factors impact on occupational performance.
7. To contribute to case formulations within the Neighborhood, incorporating experience and knowledge as a dually trained professional in both physical and mental health.
8. To participate at practice and network-based MDTs, share good practice and take part in training activities for other members of the MDT

We provide a wide range of community health and mental health inpatient services to children, young people, adults of working age, and older adults in The City of London, Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets, Bedfordshire and Luton. We also provide psychological therapy services to the London Borough of Richmond, and provide Forensic services to the whole of North East London. We provide services in urban and rural settings, sometimes in our inpatient units, but mostly in the community close to where people live. Integrated care is key in making the best use of resources and providing effective care.
