Full Job Description

Due to a retirement, an opportunity has arisen for a full time established Senior Practitioner to join our long-term Social Work Team in the High Peak (Glossop).
This is an opportunity for you to apply and develop your leadership qualities and share your passion and enthusiasm to support people to achieve their outcomes whilst being a supportive leader to the team.
The successful applicant needs to be a resilient character, with the ability to meet the demands of the role. Being organised is essential along with having excellent time management skills. You will need to work flexibly and be able to adapt quickly to change to meet the fluctuating needs of the service.
You must have a commitment for your own continued development and that of the team. You will be motivated to keep up to date with practice issues and research to inform best practice and the sharing of this with the team. You will co-ordinate CPD sessions for the team as well as jointly with other Senior Practitioner's across the area and support the team to identify their personal development goals.
You will undertake case file audits, quality assure assessments and support plans. You will provide supervision and be involved in supporting the development of others. You will possess the ability to review and analyse information and the team with the aim of continuous improvement in service delivery and team development.
As well as providing support with day to day management of case work, you will joint work complex cases and hold a small caseload. You will share leading Peer Group Discussions with the other Senior Practitioners in the area. You will complement the role of Service Manager and work in close partnership and deputising as required. You will be confident to manage conflict resolution.
You will support your colleagues by chairing meetings including MDTs, Safeguarding's and Multi Agency Risk Meetings as well as supporting with court work. You will be an autonomous practitioner who is confident in defensible decision making.
You will hold responsibility for specific areas of work across the area, for example, transition work.
