Full Job Description

Do you want to be part of an award winning, innovative, forward thinking, young people's crisis service? Are you are dedicated and passionate clinician who wants to be part of defining the future of crisis intervention for young people in Hertfordshire? Following additional investment into the service we are now developing a 24/7 crisis support which includes, community and hospital based assessments, therapeutic intervention packages, telephone crisis line, parent/carer support, psycho-education and prevention. We are looking for experienced CAMHS clinicians (Social Workers, Nurses or Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, etc) to join our service as a Senior Practitioner in the team. This is a patient facing team - however we value the importance of work life balance and will consider flexi working for hours to suit around family life., With support from Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists you will provide one to one working and assessment, case discussion and support to CCATT clinicians who undertake urgent assessments and follow up appointments of children and young people, and their families, in crisis. You will ensure that a thorough assessment and risk formulation has been completed and that a robust safety and support plan has been created before allowing the young person to be discharged from the acute setting. This role has recently been expanded across the team and so will enable individual's strengths to thrive across an array of areas:

  • Duty working
  • Shift leading
  • Supervising and supporting more junior clinicians in the team
  • Autonomous working, including out of hours and/or in hours opportunities
  • Leading high risk and/or complex assessments and interventions of young people referred to the service
