Full Job Description

The Mental Health Liaison service (MHLS) offers a comprehensive range of mental health specialties within one multi-disciplinary team so that all patients, regardless of age, with a suspected or actual mental health problem can be assessed, treated, signposted, or referred appropriately regardless of age, presenting complaint, time of presentation or severity., + Provide clinical leadership, supervision, support, and consultation to nursing staff and MDT staff in the MHLS team, in line with relevant pathways as outlined within the operational procedures, with particular focus on clinical pathways for co-occurring conditions.

+ Support patients with co-occurring conditions, both those presenting to the Emergency Department and for inpatients referred to the service from the general hospital wards, taking a lead clinical role in the completion of highly developed assessments, risk management, interventions and onward care planning for this patient cohort.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Senior Practitioner to join the team, leading on work with patients presenting with co-occurring mental health and substance use difficulties. The successful candidate will work as part of the MHLS leadership team and be an experienced, driven, and passionate individual, able to work collaboratively with both patients and wider agencies, to ensure that people with co-occurring conditions are able to access the right care to meet their individual needs.
