Full Job Description

We are looking for someone to join our diverse, passionate and creative team of psychological and psychotherapeutic practitioners working in cancer and palliative care.

The role nurtures leadership, consultation, teaching and service development skills alongside delivering groups and 1-1 interventions. Your learning, wellbeing and development is a priority for us and we will support your needs. There is internal supervision , alongside peer supervision, and extended support through a well-organised professional support network from other psychological therapists working for the Trust.

Main duties of the job

This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate with a strong interest in working in a physical health setting to join the Psycho-Oncology Support Team (POST).

As well as providing outpatient therapy work, you will co-ordinate our in-person and remote group therapy and psycho-education initiatives, with the main focus on our CBT/ACT/CFT in person and remote groups for people with cancer. You will bring your creativity, ideas skills and focus to inform, develop and deliver this work. You will work with others to create and build upon these new service developments. And contribute to the development of service care pathways for group delivery. Additionally, this role would especially appeal to candidates who are interested in developing their leadership skills through service development and co-production of services. You will be supported to develop a new service care pathway for integrated working with the wider medical and AHP oncology teams to support patients at the beginning of the cancer pathway.

Dimbleby Cancer Care has been providing a service to people with cancer, their friends and families for over 20 years at Guy's and St Thomas's.The service includes, Clinical Nurse information, Benefits advice, Complementary Therapy and Psychological therapy. Support is provided for both outpatients and inpatients, and to those bereaved, and who have received support from our palliative care teams at Guy's and St Thomas.'As well as direct clinical work we also provide staff training, supervision and support.
