Full Job Description

  • Work closely with the Pricing, Tooling & Modelling team to review, challenge, and contribute to the development of risk, demand, and market models

  • Develop the implementable, technical price based on the underlying models taking a mid- to long-term view of performance, external trends, costs etc.

  • Collaborate closely with the Street Pricing team to bring the technical price to market, with required commercial adjustments.

  • Define and drive the Pricing Sophistication Strategy and Roadmap for Zego including a continuous monitoring of the performance of all technical prices

  • Develop, implement, and monitor KPIs aimed at the forward looking performance of each book, including the expected, prospective rating strength

  • Analyse insurance data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvements

  • Collaborate with product, tech, and pricing teams to implement pricing changes effectively

  • Communicate key results and uncertainties to stakeholders and relevant committees

    We are looking for a Senior Pricing Actuary (Technical Pricing) who will play a key role in defining and delivering our pricing sophistication strategy aiming to implement best-in-class pricing. You will partner with the Street Pricing and Pricing, Tooling, & Modelling teams in initiating and driving the vision, strategy, and deliverables to meet key objectives in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.


  • What we are looking for

    You will use a combination of outstanding analytical reasoning, business acumen, and technical skills to bring the risk, demand, and market models to an implementable, technical price. You will use your ability to analyse and understand complex data to drive decisions on technical pricing models. You will have strong cross-functional skills and will be comfortable working closely with both actuarial and non-actuarial teams. You should be a self-starter who can manage multiple projects simultaneously and drive them to completion.,
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Actuarial Science, or related field

  • Experience: Proven experience in motor insurance pricing, with a strong focus on technical pricing

  • Technical Skills:


  • Hands-on experience with modelling and implementing pricing for non-life insurance

  • Experience with insurance pricing tools like Akur8, Emblem, or similar

  • Experience with tools such as SQL, R, Excel VBA or similar


  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication and project management skills, with a proven ability to work collaboratively across teams and present complex information in a clear, accessible way,
  • Python: Python programming skills, with experience in developing and maintaining analytics packages and tools. Familiarity with data science libraries such as pandas and scikit-learn

  • SQL: Proficient in SQL, particularly with cloud data warehouses like Snowflake

  • Data Tools: Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (we're on AWS) and data visualisation tools (Looker, matplotlib, seaborn)
