Full Job Description

To meet increased demand, we are looking to recruit a senior or principal ecologist into our Newcastle upon Tyne to cover work across the North East area and supporting the team of Ecologists in our Leeds office.

In this exciting role you will:

  • Manage and support the delivery of projects;

  • Prepare project proposals;

  • Mentor junior staff in the field;

  • Lead protected species surveys;

  • Compile, analyse, evaluate and interpret survey data;

  • Design protected species mitigation and prepare mitigation licences;

  • Produce and contribute to complex technical reports including Ecological Impact Assessments, Biodiversity Net Gain Assessments and others;

  • Develop project/financial management skills;

  • Be taught the necessary skills for you to advance your career in ecology.

    Have four or more continuous years of experience within ecological consultancy;

  • Hold a degree in ecology or a related discipline;

  • Hold, or be eligible for, 'associate member' status, or higher, of CIEEM.

  • Be able to work effectively as part of a team;

  • A full UK driving licence.

    · 1.5x pay for work carried out during unsocial hours (10pm - 6am);
