Full Job Description

Tetra Tech RPS Energy is seeking Senior and Principal Marine Consent Compliance Consultants for our Marine Consenting and Environment team. We operate a hybrid working arrangement and you can be based in Chepstow, Edinburgh, Woking, Manchester, Aberdeen or London (home working can be considered). We have flexible working opportunities, including part time roles, to ensure a balance of family and working life. We are at the forefront of the industry - delivering offshore infrastructure projects in complex marine environments including offshore wind farm developments. Our experience includes 20 years working across the UK, wider Europe, Americas, Australia and Asia. You'll become a member of a deeply experienced marine consenting and environment team who have been selected as the lead Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Habitats Regulations Assessments (HRA) consultant for some of the industry's major "firsts". These include the world's largest offshore wind farms at the point of being constructed: Orsted's Hornsea One, Two and Three, and Scotland's largest offshore wind farm SSE's Berwick Bank. Your Role: As part of an established team of consent compliance professionals, you will help our clients with environmental oversight and consent compliance obligations on Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects, including Development Consent Order (DCO) requirements and marine licence conditions. As part of your role to deliver expert advice and guidance on compliance, you will:

  • create or review consent management, monitoring and mitigation plans;
  • determine whether project activities during pre-commencement, construction and operational phases are consistent with good practice and consented methods;
  • interface with consenting authorities, our clients' project management and engineering teams, and their contractors;
  • liaise with contractors to ensure all work is being carried out as agreed. This may involve site visits on an ad hoc basis;
  • review documents produced by client teams and contractors, including Method Statements;
  • use management tools to track project compliance and capture evidence of discharge of conditions;
  • keep our clients closely informed of progress;
  • solve problems in a dynamic and challenging environment;
  • work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns;
  • some projects may require regular inspections of works that interface with the marine environment; and,
  • you may be required to provide support on marine pollution preparedness and response arrangements., TetraTech RPS Energy has been a leader in the technical consultancy and operational support in the energy industry since 1999.   • Marine planning, environmental assessment and consents
  • Offshore site investigation and survey, including geological, geophysical and geotechnical survey planning, management and client representatives provision
  • Offshore and Land Seismic survey operations including project management, and technical software and Seismic data processing. Supply of technical client representatives
  • Operational and Wellsite geological services and drilling support
  • Technical Advisory including sub surface, reserve audits, Carbon Capture Utilisation and Storage (CCUS) and upstream assets
  • Marine assurance and Quality Health Safety Security & Environment (QHSSE)
  • Marine protected species observation
  • Geoscience consulting including project management, geological desk studies, ground modelling, geohazard assessments
  • Our own Training division and network to compile bespoke curriculum and provide multiple blended delivery options

    have experience in delivering post consent compliance; environmental management; marine licensing; mitigation management and/or an Ecological Clerk of Works role.
  • have experience in reviewing and assessing environmental permits, regulations and consent conditions
  • be able to demonstrate your meticulous attention to detail
  • enjoy variety in your work and creative thinking to solve problems
  • be resilient and self-confident, to deliver under pressure on occasion (with the support of the team)
  • have excellent communication skills
  • be willing and able to travel on an ad hoc basis, for site visits and client and contractor meetings
