Full Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Process Controller to join Thames Water permanently.
This is primarily a development opportunity to assist technician career pathway, but it also supports the production manager and technical coordinator to effectively deliver their responsibilities for an area.
- 38 hours per week 07:30 - 15:36.
- Offering a salary up to £35,000 depending on skills and experience + a van and a fuel card for company use.

What will you be doing as a Senior Process Controller?
Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team of technicians covering the North Oxford Water Production Area, you will ensure effective and continuous operation of sites, operating and optimizing all processes and equipment on water treatment works to ensure water quality, compliance, safety and operational efficiency.
You will be an experienced Process Technician who others turn to for information and advice, with a passion for improving H&S and team engagement.
In addition to your day-to-day technician duties (up to 70 % of your time), you will be involved in tasks to support the management team (around 30% of your time) including:
- Provide coaching and mentoring for team members; including apprentices and new starters. (for example, LTO, monitor verification processes, event learning)
- Be a Hear4You 'Champion' for the team and assist with Hear4You engagement and action planning.
- Provide technical input to help with delivery of the production plan and promote first-time fixes. (this could include attending planning meetings, inputting into asset availability improvements, and investigating site trips)
- Work with the production manager to assist with the smooth running of the team by taking over some day-to-day management or coordinator activities. (for example, assisting with process risk assessments, obtaining quotes, assisting with site inductions and reviewing RAMS)
- Assisting with the efficiency programme. (for example, triad and peak tariff avoidance response)
- Role model positive behavioural safety and site pride. Support and promote a positive H&S culture. (for example, supporting your colleges to recognize and raise safety observations both good and bad, own resolution of issues, identify 'Site Pride' sites, assist with H&S action completion)
- Step up to help cover activities when the production manager or technical coordinator is unavailable.
- Participate in out-of-hours standby Rota.
- Complete ADR and towing training to ensure critical cover for gas deliveries is provided.
An experienced Tech 1 or M&E Technician with knowledge of water treatment.
- Demonstrate a 'can-do' attitude, have strong problem-solving abilities, and take a solution-focused approach.
- Good communication skills.
- Competent to use company IT systems and Microsoft Office.
- IOSH trained or willing to complete H&S training., Disability Confident
