Full Job Description
The Senior project manager role is responsible for management of contract orders with professional services consultants to achieve delivery of design within time, cost, and quality, as well as supporting other programmes and efficiency drivers within the team. Throughout the project you will be meeting regularly with the design consultants, the project teams, and other stakeholders to ensure the design is completed within programme and cost while meeting our standards. You will be responsible for managing multiple Consultants through Feasibility, Outline and Detail design. You will help us to generate the best overall solutions to the challenges of tomorrows environmental needs and consumer expectations.
You'll ideally be experienced in the water industry, technical engineering or a construction related discipline. Ideally either degree qualified in a technical engineering discipline or a qualified Project Manager holding APM or Prince 2. You will have experience of managing NEC projects, with a proven track record of cost management. You will have a strong ability to build successful working relationships with internal and external stakeholders from a diverse range of backgrounds, and hold a relentless drive for continuous improvement, with the ability to innovate and anticipate unexpected issues and challenges as they arise. The right skills and experience are important. But if you have the right character, positivity, and a caring attitude we want to talk to you.
What do you get if you cross an award winning, innovative, water company and over 300 dedicated team members? Our Design team of course! Our ambitious and innovative projects (all 5000+ of them) help to combat the challenges in and water infrastructure, for example flooding and water quality. Being one of our inhouse designers means we can meet these challenges, delivering the best for our customers and for our precious water. Which is why we are investing over £2billion into construction projects over the next five years to improve the services we provide. If you want to do more because you care, we'd love to talk to you. There really is something for everyone here.
We welcome people from all walks of life and celebrate individuality as we know diverse minds, experiences and backgrounds help us to learn and better serve our communities. We want people who show up and get involve. Those who are ready to be part of something bigger and who want to make a difference because they care. Is that you? And when it comes to inclusion, we're making sure we keep up the progress with our wonderful working groups - LGBTQ+, Women in Operations & STEM, Disability and Ethnicity, who help us do just that. We do more because we care. WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU Working here isn't just a job. You can build a career at Severn Trent. We'll reward you for it, too.
