Full Job Description
- As the Senior Project Manager, you will be managing the £1.6 million budget of Green Recovery Funding from the West of England Mayoral Combined Authority.
- It will be your responsibility to lead a multidisciplinary team, comprising members of the partner organisations and external stakeholders, experts, consultants and staff in other local authorities and organisations.
- Working with the partner organisations, you will define the objectives and requirements for series projects and studies, and from these develop the technical requirements and specifications to procure contractors. Some of these will be technical research studies and others are expected to include contracts to drill test boreholes to assess the mine heat resource.
- Project managing the delivery of projects, you will ensure they are completed on time and on budget and you will be responsible for reporting on their progress to the partner organisations, including briefing Members, Officers and other stakeholders.
- This is a multi-partner initiative, so a key part of your role will be ensuring that all parties are up to date, engaged with the project, and that the outputs meet their requirements and interests including the development of policy and implementation of decarbonisation strategies.
- As the project develops you will provide relevant training and briefings to both individuals and organisations.
If you want to work at the leading edge of the energy transition, have a passion for figuring-out complex issues, with excellent project management and team building skills, then we want to hear from you., You will hold a relevant degree or professional qualification with relevant professional expertise and understanding to identify where, how and if mine water heating/cooling fits into the heat decarbonisation 'eco-system' in this part of the country, and how mine heat compares with alternative solutions such as heat networks supplied by waste and renewable heat, and individual heat pumps. - It is preferable that you have a background in mine heat, although this is not essential. You may have developed your skills and experience in other related fields which are transferrable to absorb, understand and explain a large amount of technical information quickly.
- You will have the breadth of knowledge to help us understand how the expected changes in our local climate will adjust the need for heating and cooling between now and 2080, and how this impacts the technical, business, environmental, public health and social-value cases for mine heat.
- It is essential that you have a track record of managing external contractors, delivering infrastructure projects with multi-partner projects, and you will need to demonstrate excellent project management, reporting and organisational skills, and have experience of managing projects of around £1.6 million.
- Your communication, liaison and problem-solving skills will be first rate so that you can balance the needs of the different project partners and stakeholders and ensure they are informed and remain engaged throughout the overall project.
