We need a Senior Project Manager as part of a dynamic team in delivering an effective service supporting managers and staff across the Cancer Alliance, to drive forward the adoption of transformation and change to improve outcomes for patients and enable successful delivery of the ambitions of the Long-Term Plan for Cancer.

You will be supported by a robust orientation and structured development pathway., As a Senior Project Manager, the post holder will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering an effective service supporting managers and staff across the Cancer Alliance, to drive forward the adoption of transformation and change to improve outcomes for patients. The post holder will support the Senior Programme Manager to deliver key projects in the NHS Long Term Plan and Cancer Alliance plan.

The role supports the business in driving transformation as well as value for money in planning, commissioning and service. The role is designed to build a combination of subject matter expertise and technical skills to develop a strong service delivery.

Cancer Alliances were establishedin 2016, following the recommendations of the Independent Cancer Taskforce. The Taskforce recognised the need for capacity and leadership for delivering improvements to cancer services, much of which had been lost following an overhaul of the former cancer networks in 2013.

There are now 21 Cancer Alliances, responsible for leading the planning and delivery of cancer services and for leading work across their local system to: speed up cancer pathways, diagnose cancer earlier and improve survival, improve patient experience and quality of life, and reduce health inequalities in cancer services.

Somerset, Wiltshire, Avon and Gloucestershire Cancer Alliance (SWAG CA) constituent ICBs are Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG); Somerset; Gloucestershire; Bath, Swindon and Wiltshire (BSW).

SWAG CA is hosted by North Bristol NHS Trust for the purposes of formal employment and the provision of back-office support to the Cancer Alliance.

The post holder is hybrid working with a minimum of 40% office based within the SWAG CA geography.

The post holder will be required to travel across the South West.
