Full Job Description

The Senior Project/Programme Manager leads the planning, execution and delivery of complex projects/programmes through all specific phases, in alignment with BT Group strategies and external customer contractual requirements. Ensuring leadership and direction while partnering with BT Group and executive stakeholders within a single or across multiple business units. The role holder will be responsible for delivering a multi year physical security transformation of the long term strategic exchange building estate (1400 buildings), responsible for managing a budget of approximately £100m over the 5 year term. This project will deliver new access control solution to the estate, enabling the organisation to leverage new technology to provide enhanced service and security. The role holder will be expected to negotiate with third party suppliers and existing partners (e.g. CBRE) to provide equipment and installation services. The role holder will work with the technical teams to ensure the technology solution is fit for purpose and enables a seamless migration for our employees, partners and third party customers. This role consists of frequent field based travel across the UK & when not field based, you need to be commutable to one of the following sites: Birmingham, Bristol, LondonWhat you'll be doing

  • Accountable for delivering an uplift program of physical security systems across the BT operational estate. systems, tools and processes for strategic exchange estate and their integration into the sites and our operations.
  • Responsible for reporting of all relevant Security project tasks, work-packages and other deliverables (time/cost and quality) to the Physical Security Operations Capability Coach and others as agreed.
  • Ensure that building security designs and guidelines are fit for purpose, meeting relevant BT policies and standards and industry best practice; and sign-off of site-specific designs.
  • Manage and oversee 3rd party supplier relationships and performance to contracted SLAs and metrics in relation to Physical Security deliverables and tasks.
  • Making bold, impactful decisions quickly and under pressure across PBT Physical Security Operations.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the Security tools deployed meet all required standards and security policies to maintain ISO27001 certification (LRQA) and relevant GOLD NSI certification; Cas-T, Internal BT audits and PCI-DSS audits.
  • To support Security's appointed consultants, agents or other experts and programme teams (e.g. Digital Experience/Smart Buildings) to identify, understand and put in place the right elements of process, technology and controls to enable Security to deliver its operational services and protect BT from risk and exposure.
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with key internal stakeholders at all levels, up to Director and managing director level.
  • Making regular progress updates to the Director of physical security regarding the delivery of the physical security building program.
  • Responsible for negotiating and issuing in collaboration with procurement the contracts to 3rd party contractors, who will deliver the building program.
  • Innovative. Creating new working practices or methods to deliver a high volume transformation to the small buildings estate.

    Knowledge of BT's existing physical security systems and the chosen replacement solution(s). Familiarity with the make up of building security systems and the supporting software infrastructure.
  • Communication, Visual and Written: Strong communication skills, with an ability to engage audiences of differing levels of technical knowledge. Ability to articulate complex concepts to wide audiences.
  • Inspiring leadership: Leads from the front, providing clear rationale for decisions, with the ability to relate deliverables to BTs goals and objectives. Sets challenging but achievable goals to both internal and external subordinates.
  • Technical leadership: Ability to understand technical impacts on the program and adapt to technical issues or problems encountered during program delivery. Must be able to work technical problems to consensus with all interested stakeholders.
  • Organisational and planning skills: Program management, managing several concurrent site delivery projects.
  • Influencing skills: Ability to influence senior business leaders and successfully argue, with evidence a point of view. Achieve buying form senior leaders that will support the program.
  • Build and Maintain relationships: build and maintain relationships with partners and internal stake holders critical to the successful delivery of the program.
  • Team working: Ability to collaborate with other senior leaders on complimentary areas in order to deliver successful outcomes to both parties.
  • Experience Required for the Role MANDATORY
  • 2+ YEARS' PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE IN BT PHYSICAL SECURITY OR IN THE OPERATIONAL MANAGEMENT SPACE
  • 2+ YEARS' PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE IN FACILITIES MANAGEMENT AND OPERATIONS
  • 2+ YEARS PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE IN DESIGNING PHYSICAL SECURITY END-POINT SENSORS, SYSTEMS/TECHNOLOGIES/COUNTERMEASURES AND THEIR SELECTION AND DEPLOYMENT TO SITES/BUILDINGS
  • SECURITY OPERATING PROCEDURES, QUALITY STANDARDS AND INDUSTRY TRENDS AND BEST PRACTICE
  • PREFERRED
  • EXPERIENCE IN HANDLING CONTAINED AND SMALL-SCALE SECURITY OR NETWORK INCIDENTS - CALM AND DECISIVE UNDER PRESSURE.
  • CERTIFIED INFORMATION SECURITY MANAGER (CISM)
  • CONVERSANT WITH THE RELEVANT INDUSTRY STANDARDS AND CERTIFICATIONS TO SUPPORT BT'S 24/7/365 GLOBAL SECURITY OPERATION (SIA; NSI; IS27001; PCI-DSS; ISO14001)
