Full Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Project Surveyor to join our Building team based on the 105 Victoria St project based in London, to oversee the procurement of a complicated traditional built external envelope involving numerous trades and interfaces. This role will include verification of the contract sum for this element prior to contract execution and subsequent placing of subcontract packages.

This is a key role in being a proactive member of the commercial team to provide package procurement, cost control and ensure that the financial position of a construction project is reported accurately and controlled effectively and is maintained throughout; whilst guiding and developing all project staff on commercial issues.

What you'll do:

  • Play a key role in guiding and developing all project staff on commercial issues.

  • Be aware of and manage our contractual obligations

  • Undertake all responsibilities in line with company policies and IMS procedures. This includes adhering to the Code of Conduct, Contract Performance Procedure, Project Review Management Guidelines, Risk and Opportunity Management Guidelines, Design Management Guidelines and Project Close out Guidelines

  • Control the cost management for project and provide financial reporting regularly

  • Understand the contractual requirements of project documents including the roles and responsibilities of all involved and the notices required to record change etc. Ensure all required notices are issued in a timely manner

  • Understand the forecast cost to completion, establish and use cost management systems

  • Assist in risk and opportunity management (with operations team) of known and newly identified risks and opportunities for best project return

  • Prepare subcontract documentation, issue enquiries, and negotiate agreements including interim and final accounts

  • Utilise and comply with company procedures in relation to commercial site procedures; systems, cost control, variations of contract and method of measurement

    Experience of working on medium to large Build projects £30million+, and have relevant experience of running significant multiple subcontract packages £5-20m

  • Working knowledge of one or more forms of construction contracts i.e. JCT, NEC, Bespoke

  • BSc or HND in Quantity Surveying or other equivalent construction related subject.

  • Preferably qualified or working towards ICES or RICS accreditation.

  • Self-motivated and confident, financially astute with good communication skills.

  • A good decision maker who copes well under pressure

  • SMSTS qualified with the relevant CSCS Card
