Senior Public Health Specialist

Under the guidance of the Principal Public Health Specialist, the postholder will design, deliver, monitor and evaluate programmes of work, in partnership with a range of key stakeholders across the city, to promote the health and wellbeing of some of the City's most marginalised groups and communities.

Whilst the postholder will prioritise inclusion health with a primary focus on people experiencing homelessness and vulnerable migrants, they will also be involved in the delivery of other Public Health priorities, working in a matrix way across the Communities Team and the wider Public Health department.

The post holder will be involved in the development and implementation of Public Health initiatives, input into commissioning of services, and will work with key partners and agencies to support and influence their plans. Through a Business Partner approach, the postholder will act as liaison, providing specialist technical expertise and/or training on research and evidence, data analysis and interpretation, policy development, evaluation etc.

We are looking for an experienced, people-focused, highly motivated Senior Public Health Specialist who is passionate about improving access to and experiences of health and care services, and outcomes for people who experience some of the most significant health inequalities of all., The successful candidate will have a relevant degree or equivalent Public Health knowledge and skills gained through experience. An applied understanding of the wider determinants of health, and the impact of inequality and exclusion on health and wellbeing is highly desirable.
