Full Job Description
As a Senior Quality Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. The key focus of this role is to support the delivery of one of our most important Engineering manufacturing contracts on time, to the right quality and to the planned cost. Day-to-day, you'll collect and analysis data, collating product discrepancies, provide advice, guidance and support to the business on all matters related to quality, ensuring outputs meet customer and regulatory requirements in a timely manner.
- Represent the customer's interests and help to maintain the open and collaborative relationship we have. Liaise regularly with the customer quality representative
- Provide quality input and advice through the product lifecycle
- Identify quality risk and work to mitigate, manage and escalate to programme leadership
- Oversee progress and sign-off on completion of the delivery process to give the customer assurance their requirements have been met
- Quality planning in production and supply chain to drive a Right-First-Time culture
- Lead investigations into quality escapes, managing through to preventative action using suitable tools and techniques
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2/3 days in the office/onsite and 2/3 days working from home dependant on business needs. Experience of the Senior Quality Engineer - Quality background with considerable practical, hands-on experience and be familiar with how quality applies throughout a product or service delivery lifecycle
- Previous customer-facing roles or experience is beneficial
- Experience of implementing quality improvements and encouraging culture change within an organisation
- Experience of auditing quality ISO management systems or equivalent
- Awareness of ISO9001 standards
- An excellent working knowledge of quality tools and problem-solving techniques
- Knowledge and experience of continuous improvement tools Qualifications for the Senior Quality Engineer
- Membership of a recognised quality institute - desirable. (Babcock can support you through this if not already obtained)
- ISO9001-2015 internal auditor - desirable. (Babcock can support you through this if not already obtained)
- Experience working in quality within a manufacturing environment - desirable
