Senior Quantity Surveyor
We're looking for senior quantity surveyor to join our Kier Highways major projects team and assist the commercial team on projects across Northamptonshire.
Location: Northampton, Northamptonshire - remote working available, with occasional travel to the office required
Business Area: Kier Highways
Contract: Full Time, Permanent
What will your responsibilities be?
As a senior quantity surveyor, you'll be working within the Kier Highways team, supporting them on contracts across North & West Northamptonshire. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing all aspects of the commercial and financial side of our highway's projects, ensuring cost control, contract management, and risk mitigation.
What will your day to day duties include?
- Cost Management - Prepare, monitor, and control budgets for highways projects. Conduct detailed cost forecasting and reporting. Manage project costs to ensure the project remains within budget.
- Contract Management- Prepare and review contract documents, including bills of quantities, specifications, and drawings. Oversee and manage subcontractor agreements. Ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
- Financial Reporting- Prepare monthly cost reports and financial statements. Conduct regular financial reviews and updates. Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management.
- Risk Management - Identify and assess potential risks to the project. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies. Maintain a risk register and ensure it is up to date.
- Procurement - Lead the procurement process for materials and subcontractors. Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers and subcontractors. Ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of resources.
- Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
- Proven track record in cost management, contract administration, and risk management.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, law, and regulations ESSENTIAL
