Senior Quantity Surveyor - leatherhead, South Mimms, Dartford

We have an amazing opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to be part of our Connect Plus Services M25 London Orbital Motorway Project. This role can be based at our Leatherhead, South Mimms or Dartford office locations. CPS is a joint Venture project with Balfour Beatty, Atkins, and Egis. We operate and maintain the M25. The M25 is the busiest section of motorway in Europe and requires careful and efficient planning of work in order to deliver over £100m of annual investment in the highway infrastructure each year, in addition to planned and reactive maintenance activity. If you have or are looking for a career in Highways, working on the M25 will give you experience and challenge that no other highways project can offer. As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will superintend over the measurement and valuation of works, reconciling these to costs relating to civil engineering projects. Seeking to minimise the costs of the project and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required standards and quality.What you'll be doing Some key responsibilities will be:

• Orders information and systematically checks data.
• Maximises digital opportunities.
• Prepare Activity Schedules, Resource Schedules & analyses tender documents.
• Undertakes audits of cost to determine whether it is in accordance with the subcontract.
• Critically appraises, estimates and negotiates the above with 3rd parties.
• Review complex contract programmes such as Time-Location.
• Assist with the preparation of delay and disruption programmes.
• Monitors and reports on project performance on main and s/c accounts.
• Analyse the commercial progress and report to senior project staff.
• Manage commercial aspects with Customer and Stakeholders for their area of responsibility.
• Undertakes and advises on contract administration, issuing the appropriate notices and certificates.
• Advises on appropriate procurement and tender routes.
• Collate the relevant tender documentation and information for tender enquiries.
• Prepare and maintains procurement programmes and helps develop the strategy.
• Prepare the detailed tender enquiries including the relevant documentation and information.
• Negotiates during the s/c tender phase within delegated parameters.
• Proactively manages change according to the conditions of contract.
• Prepare and reports on cost value reconciliations using earned value management.
• Analyse rates & prices, assess variations according to the conditions of contract.
• Undertakes customer and stakeholder management for their area of responsibility.
• Prepare, submit and negotiate claims when required.
• Prepares forecasts of outturn cost and value.
  
  We are looking for the following:
• Experienced Quantity Surveyor with experience managing a team commercial staff.
• BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or cognate award with relevant experience
• Membership of RICS, ICES or similar professional body (or working towards)
• Ability to mentor others on their journey to becoming professionally qualified Chartered Members.
