The appointee will be expected, with colleagues, to provide a first-class critical care service. Clinical duties include, but are not limited to, the day-to-day provision of high-quality medical care to patients on the CCU. Flu Vaccination What We Expect of our Staff At The Royal Marsden we have an immune compromised patient population who we must protect as much as we can against the flu virus. Each year, seasonal flu affects thousands of people in the UK. Occurring mainly in winter, it is an infectious respiratory disease capable of producing symptoms ranging from those similar to a common cold, through to very severe or even fatal disease. The wellbeing of our staff and patients is of the upmost importance to us, and it is the expectation of The Royal Marsden that all patient-facing staff have an annual flu vaccination, provided free of charge by the Trust. The Critical Care Unit at the Royal Marsden is looking to appoint a Clinical Fellow in Critical Care. This post would be equivalent to a ST3 level candidate; however those with little or no critical care experience would be equally as suitable for the post. This is a substantive 3-6 month post (extendable), open to all individuals who wish to gain further experience in Critical Care Medicine.,
- License to Practice as determined by the General Medical Council
- Current Advanced Life Support Certification (or equivalent) Desirable criteria Evidence of commitment to research and audit or teaching skills Experience Essential criteria Desirable criteria Experience of working with oncology patients
The post will comprise daytime, night-time and weekend commitment to provide cover for the Critical Care Unit (CCU) at the Fulham Road, Chelsea, site. This would comprise, on average, 48-hours / week. This post does not require advanced airway skills, as there is a separate anaesthetic rota providing cover on the unit.
