Full Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and well-organised person to join the Applied Health Research hub (AHRh). AHRh carries out health- and care-related research programmes and provides a range of support to internal university researchers and external research partners. The hub includes the Research Delivery and Facilitation Unit (RFDU), where this post will be based.

Initially the postholder will be working with the IMPlementation and Capacity building Team (IMPaCT), Health Technology Assessment (HTA) Unit, which works in partnership with NIHR Applied Research Collaboration North West Coast (ARC NWC) and its member organisations. Members include regional universities, NHS, local authority and third sector organisations.

Working as part of a team of experienced researchers, the postholder will support the delivery of a range of health- and care-related research/ implementation/ evaluation projects. The postholder will be supported by experienced researchers whilst further developing their own skills and experience in collaborative and programmatic health- and care-related research.

The successful applicant will hold a minimum 2nd class honours degree in a relevant area and a Master's degree or equivalent in a relevant area. They should have experience of research in health- and care, demonstrated by experience of using a range of different research methods, and production of or contributions to publications/research reports.

Research skills including qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis are essential to the role, as well as excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate with a range of stakeholders.

The postholder should be able to work as part of a team and motivate others, and to organise workload with support and manage activities across several projects.
