You can contribute to the fight against antibiotic-resistant bacteria by studying the structural biology of flap endonucleases (FENs). We seek an experienced scientist (structural biologist) to explore carry out structure determination and explore FEN-inhibitor interactions using NMR techniques., As a Postdoctoral Research Associate, you will:
- Conduct sophisticated research on FEN-inhibitor interactions using nuclear magnetic resonance.
- Carry out structure determination of Pseudomonas FEN protein
- Co-ordinate research activities with our international collaborators, showcasing your strong organisational skills.
- Contribute to preparation of research reports, publications, and presentations.
- Engage in collaborative research projects to identify new drugs for treating critical diseases.
- Participate in laboratory meetings, seminars, and conferences to present your findings.
- Supervise a technician who will support aspects of the project.
To be successful in this role, you must have: - A Ph.D. or equivalent experience in biological structure determination. - Prior successful FEN-structure-determination experience. - Outstanding organizational skills and a proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. - Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively present research findings and collaborate with team members. - The ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating an ambitious approach to research., If you are passionate about scientific discovery and eager to contribute to world-class research, we encourage you to apply. As this role involves biological structure determination by NMR, it is essential that you have proven expertise in the field. - 41 days annual leave (including closure days and Bank Holidays), with the possibility to purchase up to ten additional days.
