We are looking for Senior Research Fellow (Social Care Research and Development) aligned with our world-leading research. The School of Healthcare is investing in its research capacity and capability, recruiting one Senior Fellow and two Fellows. The School of Healthcare leads Leeds' contribution to the NIHR School for Social Care Research (Phase IV) and NICHE-Leeds (a partnership between science and care in the city). The posts will help us develop our research into Ageing Well and Quality and Safety. You will work with world-leading researchers, furthering our aims of impactful applied health and care research of the highest quality, making a positive difference to society. You will work closely with colleagues in our research teams in the School and will join our teams to deliver our ambitious social care research portfolio.
Our portfolio focuses on questions that matter for social care and that will enhance quality of life and care for people accessing care, and/or quality of work for staff employed in the sector. Our areas of research include: technologies to enhance care and outcomes, quality and safety; the role of data and information in providing better care; supporting personal care (e.g. mouth care); social care workforce. Our methods range from working with big data; social network analysis; qualitative and mixed methods studies; and complex intervention development and evaluation. We don't just "do research"; a key part of our work is developing capacity and skills and mobilising knowledge - working with the right people (people accessing social care, their families, care staff, providers, commissioners) to make a difference in practice and policy. We will expect you to be willing to work with our range of partners and be flexible in the approaches you use.
Primarily focussing on research and contributing to research-led education, you will be a key member of our School. Working closely with academic colleagues, you will help lead and deliver existing research. Our work is shaping health and social care practice and policy and developing methodology and science in social care. You will lead on grant writing, leading research in this field through sustained income generation.

You will have a PhD (or Masters degree with equivalent research experience) in a subject area relating to applied health and care research, you will be able to demonstrate post-doctoral experience in a relevant health care or social care research setting.
