Full Job Description

We are recruiting a Senior Research Sister. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join the Core Research and Development Team. If you have an interest in clinical research and would like to join a supportive team in a dynamic and exciting setting, where you can share your skills and knowledge of clinical research whilst working with colleagues across the Trust then this role is for you. The post holder will work as part of a growing, enthusiastic team of administrators, clinical trail assistants, research nurses, and other research staff as part of the multi-disciplinary team supporting the delivery of portfolio research projects.,

  • Ensure the effective delivery of a high standard of nursing care for all patients within the research pathway by providing clinical nursing leadership, direction, supervision and maintaining effective systems of work.
  • To coordinate and expand specialty teams research study portfolios, focusing on increasing both NIHR portfolio and commercial study activity.
  • To liaise closely with external partners, specialty research leads, the Trust's research department, external regulatory agencies, and funding bodies to facilitate the delivery of high-quality research across designated clinical specialities.
  • Through effective leadership plan, co-ordinate, implement and deliver clinical research activities across assigned teams in partnership with study investigators and research support teams.
  • Ensure efficient and effective use of resources, work closely with the research finance team to ensure accurate recordkeeping of research appointments on departmental recruitment platforms to recover funding.
  • Manage assigned research teams, ensuring safe and effective staffing levels and the appropriate skill mix are maintained, including the co-ordination of leave and duty rosters.
  • At all times adhere to the NMC Code of Conduct, working within the research regulatory and legal frameworks for clinical trials (e.g., International Conference on Harmonisation of Good Clinical Practice in Clinical Trials (ICH-GCP), operating within the NMC Scope of Professional Practice).

    We require a person with excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an interest in leading the embedding of research in all clinical specialties. You will be self-motivated and driven to lead the clinical staff, ensuring patients receive a service of the highest quality.
