Full Job Description
We are looking to appoint a Part-time (60% FTE) Senior Researcher in Translational Science of Flourishing, located within the Neuroscience, Ethics and Society (NEUROSEC) Team. The post is funded by Oxford Health Biomedical Research Centre (OH BRC) which serves a platform from which we can develop a national network of centres of excellence. The Flourishing and Wellbeing Theme is led by Professor Ilina Singh and is committed to driving highly innovative conceptual and empirical research to develop and test nature-based (and other non-clinical) interventions that are good for people and for the planet. The post is based in the Department of Psychiatry and is part-time. The post is for a fixed term (funded for 2 years, with the possibility of an extension). You will lead a programme of early phase translation science research on Flourishing and Wellbeing, from the development of research questions and hypotheses through to delivery and write-up of research. You will contribute to the strategic direction of the research and manage and monitor research resources. You will lead on writing funding applications for specific avenues of collaborative and independent research and provide line management and academic supervision for research assistant and students.
You should hold a relevant PhD/DPhil in Psychology, Psychiatry (or other mental health-related science), with significant post-qualification research experience, and be able to demonstrate outstanding specialist knowledge in early phase translational research designs focused on understanding the underlying drivers of change (mechanisms). With expertise in developing and testing scalable interventions in non-clinical settings (preferably nature-based interventions) to promote mental health and wellbeing in a range of populations, you will have an established (inter)national reputation and excellent track record of high-quality publications in a relevant area. Experience with (agent-based) systems-level modelling / experimentation and in PPIE approaches in mental health science intervention studies would be desirable
Whilst the role is a Grade 9 position, we would also consider candidates with potential, but less experience, who ae seeking a development opportunity, for which an initial appointment would be at Grade 8 (£48,235-57,255) with the responsibilities adjusted accordingly. Responsibilities/selection criteria marked
- are required for a Grade 9 role.
