Full Job Description

The Commercial Capability Team within Cabinet Office supports the growing Government Commercial Organisation (GCO) in building commercial expertise and improving commercial outcomes across the Civil Service and in the wider public sector. An effective reward strategy is crucial to attract, motivate and retain a GCO population of 1,600 senior commercial experts deployed to over 25 different Government departments. As the Senior Reward Lead, you will join a large People Services Team comprising c. 50 HR professionals covering the full range of specialisms from workforce planning, recruitment, business partnering and employee experience to policy, operations, talent management and reward. You be part of a high performing team of reward specialists to design and deliver a programme of strategic reward projects which improve the employee value proposition and have a tangible positive impact on employees' lives. Reporting to the Head of Reward and working alongside another Senior Reward Lead and a Reward Analyst, the exact allocation of work will be shaped with you and the team. Responsibilities Responsibilities are likely to include:

  • Leading a range of projects to review and improve the total reward offer in line with the reward strategy;
  • Drawing on reward experience to provide advice to other HR colleagues and senior leaders;
  • Supporting the delivery of the annual delegated and SCS pay awards, including the analysis and formulation of pay options and operational implementation of the award with our payroll provider and wider HR team;
  • Effectively communicating changes to improve employee awareness and understanding, for example, through all staff calls, workshops, videos, written policies and guidance;
  • Drawing insights from qualitative and quantitative data to ensure robust, evidence-based recommendations;
  • Benchmarking pay and benefits across the Civil Service and externally;
  • Working collaboratively with the HR Policy Lead to adjust reward and benefits policies in line with legislative and strategic directional change;
  • Fostering strong working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including the wider HR team, benefits suppliers and our payroll provider.
