Full Job Description

This is a newly created role within the business and will report directly into the Head of Business Compliance and Risk. You will be responsible for leading risk management and business continuity across Hyperoptic whilst also managing a team of 3 within the department. You will play a critical role in identifying, evaluating and mitigating potential risks to ensure the continuity of business operations and your expertise within risk will be essential in developing and safeguarding Hyperoptic against various threats and uncertainties. By collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will be a key driver in providing an accurate view of the risk landscape to ELT level, establishing and agreeing organisation risk appetite, and driving through mitigation of risk to meet that appetite. You will be key to making the organisation more resilient to unexpected challenges. Key Deliverables : Risk Assessment and Management : Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential threats, vulnerabilities, and opportunities within the organization. Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to analyse risks, determine their impact on business objectives, and develop risk mitigation plans. Business Continuity Planning : Oversee the development, maintenance, and testing of business continuity plans and (DR) disaster recovery strategies. Ensure that these plans are aligned with industry best practices and meet regulatory requirements.

  • Policy and Compliance : Develop and enforce risk management and business continuity policies and procedures. Keep abreast of relevant regulations and industry standards to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Training and Awareness : Conduct training sessions and workshops to raise awareness about risk management and business continuity principles among employees.
  • Foster a culture of risk awareness and preparedness throughout the organization. Monitoring and Reporting : Implement risk monitoring tools and processes to track risk indicators and trigger necessary actions when required. Generate regular reports for senior management, highlighting risk profiles, mitigation progress, and areas for improvement.
  • Business Impact Analysis : Collaborate with business units to conduct business impact analyses, identifying critical processes and systems that must be prioritized during disruptions.
  • Crisis Management : Establish and lead a crisis management team to effectively respond to emergencies and incidents. Develop crisis communication protocols to maintain transparency and manage stakeholders during critical situations.

  • Ability to work clearly and concisely with Senior influencing key stakeholders to drive improvements
  • Proven experience in risk management and business continuity
  • Strong Knowledge of Risk management frameworks and business continuity planning
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Desirable - Line management experience
