Full Job Description

The purpose of the Senior Risk Manager role is to provide leadership to risk management within a local SZC programme/ similar, compliance with SZC's PMO risk management direction, and genuinely helps safeguard the programme area from major overruns

  • Leadership capabilities, motivational skills, delegation, team management and team membership, as well as strong collaboration and peer-to-peer relationship-building skills. Role will involve leading small approx. 5-person team.
  • Facilitation skills; able to independently facilitate complex/ important workshops for all levels within programme.
  • Technical skills; able to independently deliver large/ complex QRAs, spanning Cost QRAs, Schedule QRAs, and Integrated QRAs.
  • Linked capability to integrate/ support breadth of project controls/ project delivery/ business support processes (e.g. Finance).
  • Engagement skills; able to independently engage teams of Range of project and corporate professionals.
  • Demonstrable use of numerical and verbal communication skills within a business environment
  • Membership of one or more risk or project management organisation e.g. APM, PMI, IRM, CERA or a suitable equivalent.
  • Understanding of scheduling methodologies in project/programme management, including hands on experience of the leading software packages (Oracle P6/Microsoft Project or similar planning tools).
  • Being comfortable with quantitative analysis and advanced forecasting i.e. Monte-Carlo methods, probabilistic forecasting, and optimisation.
  • Experience of developing large data models (QSRA/QCRA etc) and their integration into decision making processes.
  • Understanding of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) frameworks and standards.
