Full Job Description
Welcome to your next exciting career step, a rotational Senior OT in our busy acute hospital! Our department operates an integrated therapy service, where Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists work alongside each other in each of the clinical areas. The culture of multi-disciplinary working is well established and respected within the hospital. The Therapy department is committed to providing an environment of excellent professional growth and offers daily team huddles and regular departmental meetings; ensuring effective communication within the teams. We incorporate CPD time, regular performance reviews and service development projects. Supervision is highly regarded within the department as a method of ensuring all staff are supported in their professional development and career progression. We are an improvement and education focused team and you will have access to a robust in-service programme and wider training, supported by our practice development OT alongside monthly Band 6 peer support meetings. You will also have the opportunity to supervise junior staff and provide student education. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate on Quality Improvement Initiatives as well as departmental auditing within the Occupational Therapy Team.
We provide emergency and non-emergency services to the residents of East Surrey, North-East West Sussex, and South Croydon, including the major towns of Crawley, Horsham, Reigate and Redhill; a community of over 535,000 people. We provide acute and complex services and a range of outpatient, diagnostic services whilst Crawley Hospital and Horsham in West Sussex and Caterham Dene Hospital and Oxted Health Centre in Surrey provide less complex planned services. In 2019 the Care Quality Commission (CQC) rated our services as 'Outstanding' and we are one of the best performing Trusts in England:
- Winners of Health Service Journal Acute Trust of the year award 2021.
- National Patient Safety Awards winner and strive to be a beacon for safety in all that we do.
- We are rated the sixth highest trust in the South East and in the top 25% nationally for staff recommending the Trust as a place to work or receive treatment.
