Full Job Description

In this post you will co-ordinate and manage the day to day efficient and effective running of the school administration function related to HR, training and examinations support.

Key duties include:

  • Liaise and work collaboratively with internal stakeholders including site-based staff and wider group functions (Recruitment, Quality, HR)

  • Establish and maintain excellent working relationships in contributing to the delivery of an efficient support service

  • Maintaining and updating manual and computerised records

  • Contribute to the development and record keeping of training programmes/learning opportunities, with ownership of the Moodle Training Matrix

  • Prepare and support key Performance Management reporting throughout the employee lifecycle.

  • Organising and facilitating interviews, events and meetings to include taking minutes, as required.

  • Support the induction of new staff to the school to include new-starter set up and initial training.

  • To provide support for HR to include sickness absence reporting and keeping training records up to date.

  • Be responsible for the overall smooth running of internal and external examinations, ensuring that all related administration and preparation is undertaken, to include room set up, attendance registers, securely storing and checking papers, providing and checking seating plans and relevant materials

  • Disseminate examination information to staff, pupils and parents / carers, including exam and invigilation timetables, guidelines and querying results

  • Liaise with examination boards to ensure the accurate administration of all examinations.

  • Support the requirements necessary of the School's Quality and Governance expectations to include preparing, collating and editing reports in respect of all aspects of School Administration and Support


  • Like many SEN environments; your duties are likely to vary and therefore candidates will need to be flexible and be able to lend a hand whenever required.

    Successful candidates are likely to demonstrate:
  • Experience of working in Senior Administrative role within a school environment and/or a busy Administration office

  • Adaptable, flexible approach to work including collaborative support to other colleagues to meet demands of the business

  • Excellent organisation skills: ability to work in a busy and demanding environment

  • Ability to be discreet and protect confidentiality

  • Excellent customer focussed manner

  • Good level of literacy and numeracy (at least 5 GCSEs above C to include English and Maths).

  • Must have excellent computer skills - Excel, Word, Outlook, Access, Powerpoint and ability to use range of databases once trained

  • Ability to manage own time to deal with multiple tasks.

  • High levels of interpersonal ability with excellent written and verbal communication.
