Full Job Description
We are currently seeking to appoint a highly motivated and experienced Senior Scientific Officer (SSO) to join our Cancer RNA Dynamics group.
This multifaceted role focuses on both the administrative management and scientific advancement of our laboratory. You will oversee the daily operations of the lab, design and execute in vitro and in vivo experiments, and provide crucial support to the principal investigator.
Key responsibilities include participating in performing experiments within the research portfolio, which encompasses multiple projects aimed at identifying novel targets for preventing malignant breast cancer.
You will also handle a variety of administrative tasks, such as recruitment, finance, communications, events management, and scientific administration.
You will possess a strong background in biological or medical sciences and demonstrate extensive organisational and experimental skills.
This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive individual to contribute to ground-breaking cancer research while ensuring the smooth running of laboratory operations.
You should hold a BSc (or equivalent) in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, or a related discipline (or have equivalent relevant experience).
Research experience at the PhD level is desirable. You will have experience in managing scientific research projects with minimal supervision, preferably within the realm of RNA biology.
You will have excellent organisational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
A current or previous holder of a Personal Licence (PIL A & B and ideally C) or equivalent under
the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986 is an added value.
