Full Job Description
We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, and highly motivated senior theatre practitioner to join our theatre Band 7 leadership team. To support the growth of our aorto-vascular service at St Bartholomew's Hospital, we are further developing our endovascular service. This post will provide leadership to the theatre scrub team and applicants should have significant theatre scrub experience in either or both endovascular and cardiac surgery.
You will require strong leadership skills and a passion to deliver high quality in all aspects of nursing care. Providing visible, credible senior presence, you will be expected to lead on improvements across the theatre environment.
Barts Heart Centre has brought together the services of some of the best cardiovascular experts in the country who work together to create a single specialist centre for cardiovascular disease covering all our local communities and nationally. We are proud of our world class cardiovascular, Thoracic robotics, Cardiac Robotics and ECMO service. We have recently developed our complex aorto-vascular service with TEVAR and FEVAR including a Thoraco-Abdominal Aneurysm repair service attracting patients from across the country.
There will be opportunities for you to further your professional development with access to clinical and leadership courses available through the Trust and with our partner education institutions.
Skilled clinical practitioner with understanding and experience of delivering and leading on patient safety and governance in the theatre environment.
Demonstrate excellent leadership qualities and embrace our Trust WECARE values, whilst being an advocate for delivering outstanding care to our patients and meeting the priorities of both our patients and staff.
Deliver high quality in all aspects of nursing care, and demonstrate transformational skills in order to drive improvements in both practice and learning, ensuring safe, efficient timely individualised care is delivered in line with local and national targets.
Barts Health is one of the largest NHS trusts in the country, and one of Britain's leading healthcare providers.
The Barts Health group of NHS hospitals is entering an exciting new era on our improvement journey to becoming an outstanding organisation with a world-class clinical reputation. Having lifted ourselves out of special measures, we now have the impetus and breathing space to chart a fresh course in which we are continually striving to improve all our services for patients.
Our vision is to be a high-performing group of NHS hospitals, renowned for excellence and innovation, and providing safe and compassionate care to our patients in east London and beyond. That means being a provider of excellent patient safety, known for delivering consistently high standards of harm-free care and always caring for patients in the right place at the right time. It also means being an outstanding place to work, in which our WeCare values and behaviours are visible to all and guide us in how we work together.
We strive to live by our WeCare values and are committed to promoting inclusion, where every staff member has a sense of belonging. We value our differences and fully advocate, cultivate and support an inclusive working environment.
