An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a suitably qualified Senior Social Worker to be based in the Review Team in Beverley.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced social worker to take a proactive role, expanding and developing their skills; and to take the next step in their professional career within a well-established local authority. The Review Team cover the whole of the East Riding of Yorkshire, as well as supporting in care homes outside the area. The Review Team also complete focussed pieces of work, such as care home closures.
The role of Senior Social worker will be to work as an autonomous professional, demonstrating expert and effective practice in complex situations. This will include supporting the team to manage reviews of care packages funded by East Riding of Yorkshire County using a strengths-based approach to ensure that the care provided continues to meet people's needs.
The focus will be on supporting and enabling people and carers to actively stay well and independent, build and maintain family and social networks whilst working to protect people from harm. The role will be active in supporting the Team manager with the daily operational functions of the team as well as working collaboratively with partners.
You must be a registered social worker with experience of adult social care settings. You must demonstrate a good knowledge of the Care Act 2014 and ability to work within the legislative framework of the Mental Capacity Act 2005, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards and the Human Rights Act. Knowledge of safeguarding adults and working within safeguarding procedures is key to this role.
You must have excellent communication skills, the resilience to work under pressure and be flexible in your approach. There is an expectation that you will undertake the formal supervision of qualified social work staff. This will be in addition to giving expert knowledgeable advice and guidance to the safeguarding team on a daily basis., You must be a registered social worker with experience of adult social care settings.
