Full Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Software Developer to join the Frontier team, on a permanent, full-time basis. This is a fully homebased role but there will be a requirement to attend sites when needed. You are an experienced developer who seeks simplicity of solutions and excellence in code. You are able to manage the work of less experienced developers (at entry and intermediate level), drive standards and manage problems. Working with other Developers, Product Managers, and Delivery Leads in Scrum teams, you will build efficient programs and systems that serve Customer needs. - Finding effective solutions to technical problems, individual application architecture design and drive the full-stack framework forwards
- Designing and developing system components to agreed standards against complex requirements
- Accurately estimate and record project effort and guide the estimation process with developers using story points
- Participating and directing design sessions and code / peer reviews
- Performing trials, testing and quality checks to ensure applications deliver agreed business outcomes and agreed technical standards
- Identifying and highlighting into the planning process, activities which will reduce technical debt
- Maintaining and supporting allocated products and applications and continually improve the performance of the software
- Building and maintaining a knowledge base of agreed design and development artefacts in Frontier KB systems
- Mentoring and coaching developers to improve their knowledge and output
- Working with the team to evaluate and evolve the best technical setup to deliver agreed business outcomes in the context of the overall Frontier Architecture Roadmap
- Contributing to development standards and measures
- Collaborating with the team and stakeholders to build new product features
- Contributing to the design and ongoing review of team SLAs to ensure they are met
Expert skills in JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Node.js, Express, RESTful API, Git, HTML, CSS, SQL - Azure DevOps experience essential
- Object-oriented programming (OOP)
- Solid design principles
- Extensive experience in Scrum / Agile teams
- Aptitude and passion for data structure & software application
- Able to focus across multiple tasks & technologies in a diverse environment
- Demonstrate critical thinking
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- CICD and Pipeline management experience is desirable but not essential
- Linux command line experience
