Senior Solution Architect - Data Platforms: Up to £70,000, plus 28.97% pension worth £19,000, hybrid working, flexitime and great work life balance. DWP. Digital with Purpose. In recent years DWP has successfully brought our IT in-house, introduce elements such as automation and self-service to our digital services, and accelerate the adoption of public cloud. Now in our Health Transformation Programme, a major initiative aiming to better support people with disabilities and health conditions, we want to build on that success. Data & Analytics function is central to DWP's digital strategy. We create digital solutions that leverage data to improve service delivery and user experience. In this role you'll bring the Health Transformation Programme and Data together. You'll be overseeing data products and analytics which will empower our teams to design, build and maintain truly transformative public services, that are so important to millions of people. Delivery. Work. Projects. As a Senior Solution Architect, with a focus on Data Platforms, you will help our expert digital teams understand how to build services collaboratively, utilising shared components and working to best practice. You will deliver the technical and architectural design elements of Health Transformation services. That means working closely with engineering teams and other digital stakeholders to create value-for-money solution designs, working on DWP's core data architecture and digital strategy. You will have the authority to advise, steer, and influence decisions at the heart of DWP's digital transformation. That might be through a product roadmap, presenting your architecture at a governance forums, or taking a complex concept and communicating it in a way that cuts through. You will collaborate and network with other architects across DWP, and work day-to-day as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will share your domain knowledge and experience, including defining the tools and techniques most appropriate for our environment, and help drive the resolution of technical debt. You will need the skills to:

  • Modern Analytics and BI architectures - Data Mesh / Data Lakes / Data Lakehouse
  • Schema and data acquisition design
  • Able to assist in the development and implementation of Data Strategies
  • Modern event-driven distributed architectures, and the implications for acquiring and managing distributed data sets
  • Mastering and moving data in Domain Driven Design Contexts
  • Security technical controls for handling PI data both on prem and in the Cloud.

Pay: We offer competitive pay from £55,557 to £70,000 Pension: You'll be eligible for a brilliant civil service pension with employer contributions of 28.97%, worth up to £19,000 a year.
