Full Job Description

  • Support the Head Chef in all culinary operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation.
  • Collaborate on the creation and updating of menus, including daily specials, seasonal dishes, and event-specific offerings, emphasizing innovation and luxury.
  • Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and efficient service, while maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Lead, train, and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work atmosphere, and ensuring adherence to hotel policies and culinary standards.
  • Conduct regular quality checks on dishes and ingredients, ensuring consistency, taste, and presentation meet the hotel's luxury standards.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels, placing orders as needed, and ensuring cost-effective use of resources while minimizing waste.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining high standards of hygiene and food safety throughout the kitchen.
  • Plan and execute culinary aspects of special events, banquets, and private functions, working closely with the events team to deliver memorable dining experiences.
  • Assist in budget management and cost control, analyzing food cost reports, and implementing strategies to improve profitability without compromising quality.
  • Stay updated on culinary trends and innovations, incorporating new techniques and ingredients to keep the hotel's dining offerings fresh and exciting.

    The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:
  • Completion of a formal culinary education program from a recognized institution, such as a culinary arts degree or diploma.
  • A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in high-end hotel kitchens.
  • Proven expertise in a wide range of cooking techniques and cuisines, with a strong emphasis on fine dining and sophisticated food presentation.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience in managing and mentoring kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
  • Experience in menu planning and development, showcasing creativity and innovation while maintaining high standards of quality and consistency.
  • Comprehensive understanding of food safety regulations, health and hygiene standards, and experience in implementing and maintaining strict compliance within the kitchen.
