We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Specialist Housing Manager - Key Worker Accommodation to join us at Sovereign Network Group (SNG). As we refresh and develop our strategy for Specialist Housing within SNG, this role will be key in influencing our direction and will help to shape and embed this, creating lots of opportunity for you to make a significant impact in this space.

With offices across our geography in Basingstoke, Greenham, Bristol and Christchurch, we can be flexible on your base location. There will be regular travel required across our geography so you should have access to transport and be happy to travel.

The Role

In this role, you'll lead, manage and motivate a team of Accommodation Managers and indirectly a large diverse customer-facing team, based at our NHS and MOD accommodation schemes in Cheltenham, Gloucester, Leicester, Reading, Newport (IOW) and Ilchester, providing specialist housing management and hospitality services to a range of key workers and students.

Our Key Worker Team provide both short-stay and longer-term accommodation to NHS staff, students, MOD personnel and a variety of other key workers, working in close partnership with a number of NHS Trusts, with our accommodation provided mostly on or nearby hospital sites. Our teams provide a full range of services to our customers, from taking bookings, marketing and income recovery, through to customer support, housekeeping and maintenance. Responsibilities of the role include

Ensuring our service delivers exceptional customer service and focuses on a 'right first time' approach, with a strong focus on safety and enhancing the customer experience.
Leading our partnerships with a range of NHS Trusts, the MOD and other strategic partners.
Supporting the Head of Specialist Housing to shape and develop our specialist housing strategy, with particular emphasis on property management and investment.
Managing relationships with key internal and external stakeholders relating to the mobilisation of new specialist housing schemes and any schemes earmarked for sale or disposal, undertaking tactical decision making where required to align to these.
Working closely with colleagues and contractors to ensure that the physical appearance of our accommodation is maintained and enhanced, leading on the planning and budgeting of improvement and refurbishment works
Keeping up to date with changes in legislation and best practice, and developing a strong knowledge of both customer needs and the operating environment

You'll need to have previous experience in a similar role, leading and managing diverse teams delivering exceptional customer services, maximising revenues and developing strong business partnerships. This may be from a housing background or with transferable skills from another sector, such as residential property management, hotels, student accommodation or retail or facilities management for example.

You'll also have:

A well-rounded knowledge of budget management and the ability to increase revenue through both marketing and maximising repeat bookings.
A strong understanding of regulation and contractual requirements within a specialist housing environment
Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to form strong connections internally as well as externally with a broad range of stakeholders
Effective communication skills, with a developed coaching style of management and ability to influence internally and externally where required
Demonstrable leadership skills - a visible leader who empowers others and enables a supportive and collaborative working environment
